Slowly falling magnet
When the powerful magnet is set in motion above the solid copper element, a magnetic field arises that is so strong that the magnet appears to hover.
Move the magnet, which is made from the element neodymium, between the two copper rods with the aid of the piece of iron. Remove the piece of iron and watch how the magnet falls slowly between the copper rods.
When the powerful magnet is set in motion above the solid copper element, eddy currents arise that give a magnetic field so strong that the magnet appears to hover.
