Maze

Life is a maze. You have to get lost a few times before finding your way. Wander round our maze and make some wrong choices, before getting it right and escaping.

Our maze is based on the English tradition of hedged mazes, and the Greek myth of the Minotaur, a monster with the body of a bull and the head of a man, trapped in a maze.

Sweden has more than 300 mazes, most of them stone mazes. The largest maze in the world is in the UK and is built of yew.

The maze form is exploited in the natural world to obtain large surface areas in limited volumes, such as the folds of the brain and the intestinal villi.
