Who was Tom Tit?

The name Tom Tit originates from a fictional character in a French newspaper, and later also in a French book - “La science amusante par Tom Tit” (roughly: “Fun Science with Tom Tit”) from the end of the 19th century. In the newspaper and the book, Tom Tit presented a series of experiments and encouraged the reader to try various science-related experiments and challenges. Similar to what we do now at Tom Tits Experiment.
