Energy Forest

Are there different types of forest? These trees make up what is known as "energy forest", which is the term used to denote a forest grown specifically for purposes of energy. How do you think we get energy from the trees when they are grown?

The Energy Forest consists of willow trees from the Salix family. They grow rapidly and new shoots arise from a felled tree after it has been cut down. This makes them ideal for rapid production. Energy is extracted from the trees by cutting them down and creating pellets for combustion.

The Salix family also has the ability to absorb toxins from the soil. 

Our park has several sources of energy used by society. A great deal of our energy comes from water power and wind power.
