Experimentet Luftvirveln

The whirl

Temporarily closed.

The whirl works in the same way as a tornado. Tornadoes occur when fast winds blow in a concentrated area such as an ash cloud. Warm winds from the bottom part of the cloud rise, since warm air has a lower density than cold air. When the two winds meet, they start to rotate. The more the tornado rotates, the faster it draws more air into it. The tornado starts to grow both upwards and downwards, like a cone.

Sustainable development

When the temperature of our atmosphere increases, it becomes easier for tropical storms and hurricanes to form.
This means it becomes more difficult to live in hurricane areas, and expensive rebuilding work often needs to be done.
