Tom Tits Experiment is a huge building filled with experiments for young and old to try out together. This is where science and technology are really cool.

By car

Approximately 30 minutes from Stockholm. Follow the brown signs for Tom Tits Experiment from all motorway exits.

By bus fromStockholm

From the Liljeholmen metro station, take bus no. 748 or 748X with destination Södertälje centre.

By train

From Stockholm – Local commuter trains leave at approximately 15-minute intervals from Stockholm with destination Södertälje Centrum.

From other towns than Stockholm – Intercity trains stop at Södertälje syd. From there, take bus 754C or 755C to the “Centrifugen” bus stop.

Delicious soup, sallad, sandwiches are served in the café. Ice cream, biscuits, smoothies, ice tea etc. All organic.

For picnic guests

The room "Pelarsalen" has been inspired by a medieval knights' dining room. About 100 seats for picnic quests. Not bookable. Microwave and washing up facilities. In summertime you can also enjoy your picnic in the garden.


Child safety

Our park is not a normal playground.
There are several ponds full of water - please hold young children by the hand.
Children run around both indoors and outdoors and have fun.
Make sure that you do not leave them unattended. Be careful in staircases and other places where there is a risk of stumbling.

How long should I spend there?

You should count on spending at least half the day with us. This is a big facility with lots of indoor and outdoor experiments and attractions. Our park is open throughout the summer.

What age group is Tom Tits Experiment designed for?

There’s a lot to look at for children of all ages, from 2 to 102! The youngest children can try out a wide range of experiments built at the perfect height for small people!

Can I bring a pushchair?

You’re welcome to bring a pushchair into the exhibition. There are lifts to all floors and several ramps in the park. There are also special “Parking Spaces” for pushchairs on floors 1 and 3

Does Tom Tits Experiment offer wheelchair access?

Yes, for most of the experiments.

There are lifts between all of the floors in the building and several ramps in the park.

We provide free admission for attendants/assistants with occupational ID (licensed personal assistants) accompanying physically disabled persons. 

Is Tom Tits Experiment suitable for preschool children?

Yes, there’s a lot for young children to investigate and discover. Groups should book in advance. Prebooked school groups get a special admission price.

Can I just visit the store?

Yes, admission is free for people who just want to visit the store. Ask at the entry desk. The store normally opens one hour after the rest of Tom Tits Experiment

Can I just come and have lunch there?

Yes, we have a lunch buffet every day. Ask at the entry desk.

Why is it called Tom Tits Experiment?

Tom Tit is an imaginary figure who carried out a range of scientific experiments in the French magazine, l'Illustration, and in several books published at the end of the 19th century. 

Is there any locker?

Yes, on the first floor you can use the lockers. It cost 5 SEK to use.

Tom Tits Experiment – the famous Swedish Science Centre

This is a world of magic that invites young and old to explore together. You can spend a whole day in our building without exhausting all the possibilities on offer, or you can choose to just drop in for a few hours and concentrate on exactly what you and your family are interested in.

What can you do at Tom Tits Experiment?

We have four floors full of hundreds of experiments that attract children, adults, and everyone in between. The experiments tempt you into learning a little bit more about science, technology, physics, maths, geography, biology, how people work, illusions, and much, much more. All we ask is that you leave “Right” and “Wrong” at the door and prepare yourself to light the fire that we all have within us. In addition, the park with its exciting experiments is open between May and September. We have a buffet restaurant, a café that serves organic produces, and a room where you can eat your own food. Tom Tits Experiment is a perfect outing for the complete family. We are only 35 minutes from Stockholm, and it’s easy to get here by car or commuter train from Stockholm Centralstation. Come in and wake your wacky brain at Tom Tits Experiment!

Adventure for the family

A perfect adventure for the family. In addition to all the exploring here, we have a café, restaurant and a room for eating your own food, plenty of space for prams and pushchairs, and a large car park.
