Remarkable Cube

Look carefully at the picture – would it be possible to make this cube? No, it is impossible to construct the figure in the drawing in reality.

Why is that? The picture shows what is known as an "impossible figure". If, for example, you follow with your eyes the outer edges of the upper surface, you end up on a different level in the cross-section of the cube.
